Got an Autocross race coming up this Sunday and the original plan was to install the new set of Koni yellows and pick up a set of R-compound tires for the MR2, but then the Danger Ranger blew it’s headgasket and the MR2 decided to eat one of its wheel bearings.
Replaced the bearing and made progress on the Ranger, but working on that damn 2.3 4-banger is a pita to work on. The guy at Ford who laid out the front of that engine should be shot in the kneecap. While I was at it I’m replacing the timing belt, waterpump, and thermostat along with the headgasket.
I also passed the MSF course this past weekend and now I’m itching to get a motorcycle. It was sooo much fun even with the rain. Doing a panic stop in the wet on a bike with a pretty grabby front brake is kind of tricky. I locked up the brakes a few times but kept my steed under control.
I haven’t decided on what kind of bike I want yet. To be honest, I’ve became quite smitten with the little Suzuki TU250x that I took the class on. It was a sweet little bike that was a hoot to ride, but I never got to take it out of 2nd gear. I’m not a very big dude so I’m drawn to the smaller and lighter bikes, but we’ll see.

OH man, MSF course. I had so much fun when I took it (it was actually part of a class I took in undergrad). Congratulations on passing.
To be honest, I do not miss riding those bikes. I’m 6’5”, so I sure enough looked like a monkey fucking a football on those things. But it was still so much fun. Ended up getting a bike for about a year shortly after.
